Maternity Medical Services
For Siddal patients our midwife runs an antenatal clinic on Tuesday mornings at the Siddal Children's Centre.
Doctors and nurses offer contraceptive advice in routine surgeries. We do not deal with coils or caps (use the local CASH Clinic), but we offer a long acting reversible contraceptive, by an appointment with nurse Claire. If Emergency Contraception is required please let the receptionist know so that an urgent consultation can be arranged.
Our practice nurses can offer counselling and education.
Child Health Surveillance
For developmental assessments and immunisations, by appointment. At Siddal on Wednesday mornings by Dr Prasad and our practice nurse.
Health Visitors are based at the St John's Health Centre and can be contacted on 01422 307 347/312. Open access Well Baby clinics take place at:
Siddal Children's Centre, Oxford Lane, HX3 9DL on Tuesday 9.30 - 11.30.
Suitable minor surgery is carried out by Dr Taylor at Siddal Surgery on Friday afternoon by an appointment for both Siddal and Rosegarth patients.
These are given by our practice nurses. Please make an appointment six to eight weeks prior to travelling abroad to make the appropriate arrangements. A fee may be charged for certain vaccinations and for certificates if required.
Insurance medicals, HGV, PSV, taxi drivers, elderly drivers and sub-aqua medicals etc, are generally carried out at Rosegarth by an appointment. For these and for issuing private certificates a charge is made in line with the recommended BMA scale.
