NHS 111 is a free to call telephone service  in Yorkshire, to call if you need medical help fast, but are not in a life-threatening situation - available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for people who are not sure if they need to go to A&E, do not have a GP to call, or generally need reassurance and advice. Just dial 111.

 



The Surgery is Closed on the Afternoon for Training on the following dates:

At Rosegarth, the midwife runs an antenatal clinic, by an appointment, on Thursday morning.

Contraception

Doctors and nurses offer contraceptive advice in routine surgeries. We do not deal with caps (use the local CASH clinic), but we offer a long acting reversible implant and coils, by an appointment with nurse Claire. If Emergency Contraception is required please let the receptionist know so that an urgent consultation can be arranged.

Pre-Conception Services

Our practice nurses can offer counselling and education.  

Child Health Surveillance

For developmental assessments and immunisations, by an appointment - at Rosegarth on Thursday afternoons by Dr Sawczyn and our practice nurse.

Health Visitors are based at the St John's Health Centre and can be contacted on 0300 304 5076.  Open access Well Baby clinics take place at:

  • Jubilee Centre, Lightowler Road, HX1 5NB on         Friday 9.30 - 11 am

Suitable minor surgery is carried out by Dr Taylor at Siddal Surgery on Friday afternoon by an appointment for both Siddal and Rosegarth patients. 

Travel Vaccinations

These are given by our practice nurses. Please make an appointment six to eight weeks prior to travelling abroad to make the appropriate arrangements. A fee may be charged for certain vaccinations and for certificates if required.

Medicals

Insurance medicals, HGV, PSV, taxi drivers, elderly drivers and sub-aqua medicals etc, are generally carried out at Rosegarth by an appointment. For these and for issuing private certificates a charge is made in line with the recommended BMA scale.
